About Us

LEGAL AID OF NEBRASKA

Legal Aid of Nebraska was established in 1963. Legal Aid is the only state-wide non-profit civil legal aid provider in Nebraska. We provide free, high quality legal services to low income Nebraskans in 93 counties

BACKGROUND FOR LEGAL AID CONNECT

We created the program to provide remote limited-scope help to people who have to represent themselves in court. Through the Legal Aid Connect website, technology will transform how and when legal assistance reaches those in need, as it will facilitate video conferencing and document sharing between clients and volunteer attorneys. Pro se litigants will consult online in a private video chat room with a volunteer attorney. Our attorney volunteers will provide legal advice, hearing preparation guidance, and assistance with completing forms.

MISSION STATEMENT

Legal Aid of Nebraska provides dignity, hope, self-sufficiency and justice through quality civil legal aid services.

Our goal for Legal Aid Connect is to provide self-help litigants with high quality pro bono services. By using remote assistance technology, Legal Aid Connect will pair attorneys with self-help litigants to increase access to justice
